Day 27 of the February daily challenge

Finding A Neutral Ground On Power On Social Media
Don’t you find it incredible how much power anyone can get from social media? Cyberbullying isn’t the only power that you see often on social media. In the article “Social Media Should Be Used Responsibly” is clear from the article that a lot of teens are behind most of the cyberbullying, that being said, that doesn’t mean that adults never cyberbully. Adults can use power by monetization and advertisements on social media. There are a lot of blogs; even on specific social media platforms, that have advertisements. Social media has become more and more politically incorrect because of the power of what anyone can achieve on social media. This paper will explain will go in depth of how social media is becoming more politically incorrect and the importance of social media returning politically correct.
A 12 year old girl named Rebecca Ann Sedwick was a victim of cyberbullying, and this was one of her last messages that she received, “You aren’t dead yet” and prodded her to “Go jump off of a building.” The meaning of politically incorrect is potentially offensive to a particular group of people. However, as our world has advanced more, the term generally is: not caring about offending others. America is a country with people who want the world to become more political correct. Which is good but being completely politically correct is impossible; part of it is because of the international society on social media. A neutral ground is a better way for our society to become.
Generally, being more positive on social media is a way to keep a neutral ground one everything. There are different ways that positive gets drawn out of text and gets twisted. The term we should use; is ‘positive attitude’. Having a positive attitude towards others brings society back to neutral ground. Either way that our society wants to become, is some sort of power that we all want. Being positive and less offensive gives you power that you can handle. If you compare someone who is trending on social media and he or she  thinks and acts more negatively than positive then they might have power but are unstable. A trending person on social media that thinks and acts positively and less negatively is more stable. When you look back at the teens who were bullying Rebecca, were they acting positively? No, they were unstable, therefore letting it out on an innocent victim.
Social media has led the world to become more politically incorrect than correct because of the certain power they want to achieve. Any gain of control can be offensive which isn’t politically correct. Which brings me to a conversation that was happening in the comment section on a YouTube video. It was a tease on how the world should become more politically correct. In the comment section there was a debate about whether or not people care about offending others or not. Most of people’s comments said that they want to have complete freedom of speech, which gives a lot of potential for power to rise on social media. There were comments suggesting that we should be open minded about others and be thoughtful of others, being less racist and sexist to others. People take a lot of offence on these matters. Both ways have potential of power, which one is the stable way. In the end, both aren’t stable because if you sit there trying to be mindful of others how does that make you speak up when you have an opinion. The neutral way of power is the way.
